News: Suspension Point Store Update
As you may have noticed the store has been somewhat quiet of late. After taking a break (one that ended up being longer than intended) to re-focus and regain inspiration, we’d like to take a moment to update everyone. Suspension Point is in a transitional period as we're moving in the direction of more custom / exclusive / curated projects (really re-focusing on curation which has been the main ethos behind the store concept since the beginning).
Looking at the state of the fashion industry, both in terms of the retail and designer landscape, there have been many developments since we launched. And there is just more. More stores. More designers. More overlap. It has become harder to introduce and celebrate new designers in meaningful and impactful ways. Suspension Point’s focus has always been specialized (and we remain immensely proud of our selection), but it was time to evaluate how we wanted to position ourselves.
Moving away from purely seasonal selections to even more curated pieces / collections will create a deeper dialogue between the designer and the store (and the customer as well). The intent is to make each end product worthwhile and distinctive so it can stand on its own and be presented without hyperbole. Several projects are taking shape behind the scenes that are exciting to myself and the team. Our intention, as always, is to announce news only when things are truly ready. We are taking the time to do them properly.
During this transitional period there will be some smaller releases (archives, in-store exclusives, and collaborations) launching soon.
Thank you to everyone who has supported (and continues to support) Suspension Point. We look forward to showing you our future direction. If you have any comments, feedback, and/or questions we’d love to open a dialogue so don’t hesitate to contact us at info@suspensionpoint.ca.
Stay tuned…
