News: Following Up On Suspension Point's Plans
The best laid plans…
It’s safe to say that 2020 wasn’t what any of us had envisioned this time last year. The year started with plans to travel, visit designers, and finalize some ideas / collaborations in the spring. That, as I’m sure you can guess, did not happen. The ability to view collections and meet the creators (so important to our curated approach) was severely curtailed as COVID-19 spread across the world. Smaller designers and creators were hit especially hard as the resources and even ability to produce collections became a much greater challenge. As such, our plans had to change.
Now, having stepped aside and worked on some projects outside of Suspension Point for much of the year, we are slowly re-opening dialogues with select designers to see what can be done in the future. The core idea of moving away from purely seasonal selections to even more curated pieces / collections is still present. It’s just that we are examining what that means (and how to accomplish it) in our new reality. We remain committed to making certain that any future project / re-launch is not a reaction to the current state of the fashion industry, but is instead a comment on it. One that reflects our values and our point of view.
We have just launched an archive sale featuring a selection of archival pieces, in-store exclusives, unreleased styles, samples, custom projects, and more from a wide range of designers with great discounts! Further updates and some small projects are already in the works.
Thank you to everyone who has supported (and continues to support) Suspension Point. If you have any comments, feedback, and/or questions we’d love to open a dialogue. Don’t hesitate to contact us at info@suspensionpoint.ca.
We hope that everyone stays safe and healthy!
