Adjustable Bag (Natural)

Jan-Jan Van Essche adjustable strap bag in natural linen-cotton twill.
Focus on: The Kesa inspired panelled construction. Kesa is a rectangular garment traditionally worn by Buddhist monks and priests in Japan. As a reminder of Buddha’s own simple patched garment, Kesa are formed from many pieces of the same cloth. Within each garment, the rectangular pieces are typically organized in a series of columns framed by a border with mitered corners. It is this idea of precise panelling and overlapping edges that Jan-Jan used as inspiration.
